Trek Overview
This is a nice short trek at the southern end of the Nanda Devi Sanctuary that can be done very easily independently, requires no camping gear, and will get you up into some high Himalayan scenery but without any particularly high passes. Its pretty much an ideal trek for those on a low budget with limited time but still want a taste of Himalayan trekking. There are lodges throughout the trek (generally the government ones offer the best value). Near the tip of the Pindari Glacier known as "zero point" a locally famous Sadhu lives who goes by the generic name of Baba Gee. It is possible to stay with the friendly baba although your own sleeping bag is highly recommended.
